True to form, Ensignbus had something new to show at its Heritage Running Day on Saturday 7 December. The sun also shone, helping to ensure an enjoyable day for all who attended including David Bell who took the pictures.
Probably the star of this year’s Ensignbus Running Day was Ensignbus’ newly restored former St Helens Park Royal-bodied AEC Regent III RT-type, which has been given fleet number RT4826 following on from the London Transport series by its new owner
Seen at Lakeside is a reminder of Capital Citybus, the preserved dual-doored Leyland-bodied Leyland Olympian that was originally built as a demonstrator
The London Bus Company owns this former Green Line Metro-Cammell-bodied AEC Regal IV RF-type which worked on the X21 between Upminster and Brentwood
Another recent addition to the Ensignbus heritage fleet is a former London Pride MCW Metroliner open-topper that has been given appropriate livery. It was new to Shamrock & Rambler
A well known member of the extensive Ensignbus heritage fleet is the last RT-type in normal passenger service with London Transport in 1979, RT624, which has a Park Royal body
Now in the Ensignbus heritage fleet is this former Green Line specification AEC Routemaster that was operated by St Albans-based Timebus Travel for some years
Northern Counties bodied this former Southend Transport Leyland Fleetline, which has been part of the Ensignbus heritage fleet for many years
