Planned as the major event in 2020 for the Winchester-based Friends of King Alfred Buses (FoKAB), the group has announced that it has decided to cancel its annual running day due to the many uncertainties associated with the coronavirus outbreak. This includes both the free vintage bus services and the Transport Bazaar.
“With the amount of organising effort that has already been put in, this is most disappointing,” said the organisers in a statement, “but we are sure that our many friends and supporters will understand that in the circumstances there really is no other course.”
Depending on prevailing circumstances, it is hoped to be able to hold a vintage bus running day in the autumn, probably as part of Heritage Open Days. If this proves practical, the group will make an announcement later in the year.
