For over 35 years, Ray Stenning and his team at Best Impressions have been ‘creating desire’ with iconic transport brands and liveries. Given the ‘legend’ status that Ray has built up over years, industry friends at some of the bus companies that use Best Impressions decided that they would surprise Ray on his landmark 70th birthday on 18 April and unveil buses that have been named after him.
Ray Stenning names have now been added to buses at First Leicester, First Solent, Go North West, Harrogate & District, Reading Buses, Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire, Uno and Warrington’s Own Buses.
Ray told CBW: “It’s a great honour to have a bus named after you, but to have TEN named after you all over the country must be unique. I’ve never been one to pay much attention to birthdays – they just come and go with alarming frequency the older you get – but it seems rather a lot in the public transport industry thought if I wasn’t going to celebrate reaching 70 then they would, and I can’t think of a better way to have done it. It seems I’m also now officially a legend, according to all the wellwishers, so all the hard work I and my team at Best Impressions have been doing over the years, and continue to do, must mean something. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
