Autoglass has introduced a new interior sanitisation service to help to protect coach and bus drivers and passengers by providing a cleaner and safer environment, alongside its existing cleaning procedures carried out by technicians.
The new Full Interior service is an additional service that treats the whole of the vehicle’s interior, including upholstery, carpets and hard-to-reach areas such as air vents. It consists of professional anti-bacterial and anti-viral fogging which involves releasing a fine spray of disinfectant throughout the vehicle, plus vacuuming, and is aimed at restoring vehicle hygiene and helping operators to fulfil their duty of care to drivers and passengers. The disinfectant is designed to kill and protect against 99.99% of viruses and bacteria, giving peace of mind that professional sanitisation measures have been put in place to ensure the vehicle has been made as safe as possible.
Autoglass says that the treatment is also fast-acting, protecting against bacteria and viruses in two minutes, and that before and after tests have shown the effectiveness of Full Interior sanitisation on different areas of a vehicle. The firm said that as an example, the bacteria levels on a steering wheel decreased by 98% after treatment.
Autoglass said that standard touchpoint cleaning is undertaken by technicians at all appointments, with all vehicle touchpoints that the technician will come into contact with during a repair or replacement cleaned with a disinfectant both before and after the appointment.
