A newly awarded contract will supply Stagecoach with internal and external cleaning products at over 100 depots across the UK
Passengers on Stagecoach buses across the UK mainland can look forward to even higher levels of cleanliness thanks to a deal that will see Royal-warranted automotive care brand Autoglym ‘on the buses.’
The deal will see Autoglym’s specialist public service vehicle arm – Autoglym Connect – looking after Stagecoach’s entire fleet of buses at over 100 depots, from the tip of Scotland down to Devon.
Autoglym will be providing cleaning chemicals for all cleaning disciplines including vehicle exteriors, all interior surfaces and workshop floors.
The contract will also see Autoglym install and maintain dilution equipment at every depot to help aid Stagecoach’s health and safety objectives and allow cleaning operatives to achieve consistency in product dilution, optimise product performance and ensure accurate cost control.
The products supplied under the deal come from Autoglym Professional’s range of dedicated PSV cleaning products. Among them are Extra Deep Clean – a multi-purpose product used for everything except the main external wash. It is used on interior surfaces throughout, as well as the vehicle pre-wash, bus and workshop floors, with Autoglym Professional’s established pH neutral shampoo Diamond Shine being used for the main external bus wash.
Paul Rowlands, Head of Autoglym Key Accounts, said: “The cleanliness of public transport is more important than ever right now, so we’re absolutely delighted that Stagecoach has put its trust into Autoglym as its primary cleaning product supply partner.
“This is very much a partnership with a long-term vision and is about a lot more than just cleaning chemicals. It includes a full Autoglym Professional support package and a dedicated PSV market offering, from the products to our dedicated PSV technical specialists and account managers, all of whom are committed to keeping Britain’s buses as clean as possible in these challenging times.”
Stagecoach Director Sam Greer said: “Public transport, and buses in particular, are critical to the green recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic, helping to get people to work, connecting communities and supporting steps to deliver cleaner air and address climate change.
“We have taken extensive steps to ensure our services are Covid-secure and customers can have confidence that they can travel safely. We are continually looking at ways to enhance our hygiene and cleaning regime and we are delighted to support this through our new contract with Autoglym.”
