Treka Bus Managing Director, Morgan Clissett told CBW: “Today we start delivery of six new Treka Mobility minibuses to East Riding of Yorkshire Council. These vehicles will join a fleet of minibuses from Treka Bus and Mellor Bus. We started with the popular Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 514 with side sliding door. Then we added an AVS electric step and a Ricon inboard lift to aid in passenger entry. Interior specification includes 14 Phoenix seats, and full climate control for passenger comfort. For drivers and attendants there is a driver protection screen and a five-camera CCTV system. TREKA BUS
West Ewell, Surrey-based Edward Thomas and Son has purchased a Jonckheere JHV2-bodied Volvo B11R 12.57m coach from the Volvo Bus & Coach Centre in Coventry. The coach is fitted with 53 seats and centre toilet, air-conditioning, two TVs, reversing camera, fridge, boiler, crew seat and a Volvo 12-speed fully automated I-shift gearbox. Established in 1947, the business was founded by Edward Thomas. Upon his death in 1973 control passed to his son, Ivan Thomas who has carried on running the family business since. Volvo is the mainstay of the fleet and this coach was purchased as part of the company’s ongoing Euro VI upgrades and will be used on a mix of private hire and schools work. VOLVO
Ensignbus placed Wrightbus StreetDecks 161-7, LX21 CHH-L/N/O/V into service on its bus routes in Greater London and on its local routes. The interior specification includes leather-style seating, USB charging points and next stop display screens. ROSS NEWMAN
BASE has supplied Pontefract-based Frank Poppleton & Co with a MAN 10.220 9.1m MOBIpeople Midi Explorer with 35 seats, and to full PSVAR specification. The company offers coach hire services throughout West Yorkshire and surrounding areas. BASE
Dunbartonshire-based Lochs and Glens Holidays are to take delivery of five Volvo B11R 13.9mtr integral 9900 coaches specified with 57 high-specification luxury seats, USB sockets, and centre sunken toilet from the Volvo Bus & Coach Centre in Coventry. A loyal Volvo customer for many years, these are the first Volvo complete coaches that the operator has purchased. Lochs and Glens operates coach tours and holidays in Scotland with local pick up points throughout the UK. VOLVO
Minibus Options Sales Director, Fred James told CBW: “We have supplied a Renault Trucks Master LM35 evi135 for a day care centre for the elderly in Wick, Scotland. The minibus has nine seats including driver with capacity for up to two wheelchairs. Walk on access at the side load door is via a flush folding three step entry with folding handrails. Pelican Yutong has received further orders for its zero-emission E12 model, which will be entering service in the coming weeks and months. The vehicles will be fully commissioned and completed at Castleford before delivery to Pelican Yutong customers. PELICAN YUTONG
