Guernsey is a step closer to fulfilling it’s electric bus dreams after The Little Green Energy Company installed an EV charging system, local media outlet ChannelEye has reported.
In line with its On-Island Integrated Transport Strategy climate change policy, it is reported that the States of Guernsey Committee for the Environment and Infrastructure has been considering the procurement of electric buses for the island’s bus network as part of its fleet renewal programme. “We are very happy to be able to have supplied and installed the EV charging infrastructure to allow an electric bus to be tested on island,” Bob Beebe, CEO of The Little Green Energy Company, told the island’s media. “We look forward to collaborating further with the States in their future energy requirements as part of the Guernsey Energy Policy.”
A Higer Steed is currently being trialled on a variety of local routes to assess its operational performance, reliability and suitability in day and night conditions.
