NFI Group and Alexander Dennis have provided more details on the story behind the deal announced last week, and what it means for the future of both companies. James Day reports

On Tuesday 28 May, Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) announced it had been acquired by Canadian coach and bus manufacturer NFI Group (CBW1395). The combined teams of the two companies now number 8,900 people, with approximately 100,000 vehicles in service.

The two companies have endeavoured to be open about the acquisition and the reasons behind it. NFI had several press conference calls, along with a stakeholder conference call, publicly available to listen to on its website.
