Tap to Board may be new to the bus industry, but its creators most certainly aren’t – and have already set about shaking up the ticketing market. John Lewis spoke to one of its directors, Lee Davies

Existing contactless ticketing systems are excessively complex and therefore expensive, so it is high time the bus industry struck out in a new direction. So says Lee Davies, a director of industry newcomer Tap to Board alongside John Wade and Joe Chan.

Lee and his colleagues have watched as contactless payment has been adopted by more and more bus operators over the past few years. “It’s a great improvement for passengers and is to be applauded,” he commented. “That said, it’s been a long time coming when compared with retail, where contactless payments were first introduced 10 years ago.” […]
