FirstGroup-owned Aircoach has launched a new airport service between Leicester and Birmingham Airport. Begun on Monday 18 September, the new service runs from Leicester’s St Margaret’s Bus Station to Birmingham Airport. Tickets can be booked in advance or bought on board and cost from £9, or £16 on the coach.

Ian Smith, Commercial Director at First Bus in Leicester, said “ We are really excited to be operating the new Aircoach service between Leicester and Birmingham Airport. It is the closest international airport to the city of Leicester with thousands of holiday makers jetting off to sunnier climates and winter destinations all year round. We are also expecting the service to be popular with the many business travellers who need to make short trips across to Europe and back over a 24 hour timeline”.

Richard Gill, Commercial Director at Birmingham Airport, added: “The new Aircoach service connecting Leicester easily with Birmingham Airport will provide a convenient and cost-effective travel option for both our leisure and business customers. This seamless journey that starts at St Margaret’s Bus Station in Leicester, with a pick-up point at the popular Fosse Park, then direct to Birmingham Airport terminal, will become very busy over the coming months.”

First established its Aircoach brand in Ireland where it operates between Dublin Airport, Dublin city centre, Cork, Belfast, Galway and Wicklow.
