Allison Transmission Holdings Inc, which manufactures medium and heavy duty automatic transmissions, has announced the acquisition of long-time supplier Walker Die Casting in Lewisburg, Tennessee, along with C&R Tool and Engineering in Alabama. The two companies will continue to operate at their respective facilities under the Allison Transmission banner. Walker has been a supplier of aluminium casings to Allison for 20 years and employs several hundred people, whilst C&R supplies metal working tools to Walker and other companies.

“We are delighted to announce the acquisitions of Walker Die Casting and C&R Tool and Engineering. Walker’s products are a critical component in the manufacture and quality of our on-highway transmissions. We plan to grow the business and continue the heritage established by Robert Walker in 1958,” said Allison Transmission President and CEO David S. Graziosi.

“While it is always hard to let go of the business you built, we are proud that it will remain in good hands with Allison Transmission,” said John Walker, Walker Die Casting President and son of the founder.
