Recently, some bus operators have started paying much more interest in the coach market, whilst at the same time we’ve seen megabus shift its operations to use more subcontractors and National Express selling off some of its acquired coach operations.
ALSA, part of National Express parent company Mobico Group, has diversified in a different way and launched Bus Nàutic in Barcelona this summer. The new service is described as a key step by Port de Barcelona towards better port-city integration and provides a fast and attractive alternative to land transport that it says will help to relieve traffic congestion.
