The Leyland Society held its 2024 Annual Gathering at the British Commercial Vehicle Museum (BCVM), where it was able to welcome many different Leyland vehicles and visitors, but also celebrate some significant anniversaries.
The year marked 60 years since the introduction of the Leyland Panther and Panther Cub which, whilst not selling in high volumes, were revolutionary in the introduction of low floors, and their influence could be seen in the subsequent Leyland National and through to modern buses today. An excellent ex-Merseyside PTE Leyland Panther was in attendance at the Gathering, where it could be compared with traditional mid-engine, high-floor Leopards and successor Nationals.
