Argent is expanding its network of bio-fuel sites to better serve the south-east of England. ARGENT FUELS

Argent Fuels, part of Argent Energy, says it is accelerating its efforts to support a greener future, including an expansion of its High Blend Biodiesel product to supply to bus, coach, HGV fleets and rail operators in the south of the UK as a part of its commitment to scaling operations and maximising CO˜ reductions across the transport sector.

The company already supplies carbon-saving fuel directly to fleets across the UK, producing its own waste-based biodiesel, which it says is a sustainable alternative to fossil diesel. In 2008, the company became the first UK business to supply high-blend biodiesel on a commercial scale, and today Argent Fuels powers more than 9,000 diesel vehicles nationwide, including those run by operators including Metroline and Transdev. Whilst the current specification for fuel on UK roads is limited to a B7 blend (including 7% biodiesel). Argent Fuels offers the opportunity to use High-Blend Biodiesel, which includes blends of up to B30 (30% biodiesel), allowing a greater reduction in fossil fuel use and lower CO˜ emissions. To better serve customers in the south of the UK, the company has recently opened a blending and distribution centre that covers the South East, East Anglia, London, and the Home Counties.
