Cleckheaton-based Arriva Bus and Coach Ltd, a subsidiary of Arriva Plc, has completed a review of the business amid the coronavirus crisis.
The companies long history dates back to 1951 when it was known as Stanley Hughes Ltd, today it has partnerships with Temsa, Van Hool and more recently, Ilesbus.
CBW contacted Arriva Bus and Coach for further information on the changes, a spokesperson for the company said: “We have recently completed a planned review of Arriva Bus and Coach and are proposing to significantly downsize the business to reduce its costs.
We have now started formal consultation proceedings with affected colleagues and will look, where possible, to redeploy them into other Arriva businesses.
A further strategic viability review of the Arriva Bus and Coach business will be undertaken by the end of the year.”
