Arriva invests £7.4m in new Merseyside fleet

A fleet of 34 new Euro VI low-emission buses started to hit the roads of Merseyside from 23 January. The new buses represent an investment of £7.4 million by Arriva in its Merseyside division, and will all feature audio-visual next stop announcements, free WiFi and USB charging ports to help enhance the on-board passenger experience.

24 Wrightbus StreetDeck buses will be introduced in Liverpool on route 10B, running between Huyton and Liverpool, and route 14 between Croxteth and Liverpool. A further 10 Wrightbus StreetLite buses will be introduced to Southport on route 46 between Hillside and High Park and route 49 between Crossens and Woodvale.

Richard Hoare, Arriva North West and Wales Commercial Director said: “We are delighted to be able to commit such a strong level of investment into the Merseyside bus network. We recognise public transport as one of the key ways to help protect our environment for
the future and save our planet. That is why we are proud to be introducing 34 ultra low-emission vehicles into our fleet.”

The new fleet consist of a mix of Euro VI engined Wrightbus StreetDeck, StreetLite DF and StreetLite WF models. ARRIVA
