Articulated electric buses for new BRT route in Brazil

BYD is set to supply 12 electric articulated buses to the new Green Line Project corridor in the city of São José dos Campos, São Paulo state, Brazil. The signing of the contract between the city of São José dos Campos and BYD was carried out on April 29, with the buses to be delivered within the next 18 months. The corridor’s first stage will be a14.5km route connecting the densely-populated south and east regions of the city with the central area. The twelve 22m articulated buses will be manufactured in Campinas. On the same date, a contract was also signed by the companies Compec Galasso and Geosonda, which will be responsible for the construction of the first phase of the bus corridor.
