During its decades in the UK and Ireland market, Volvo has made a name for itself selling generally well-regarded chassis to body builders at home and abroad, dating back to 1972 with the introduction of the B58. With relatively few exceptions, such as the all-Volvo 7900 electric buses in operation in Harrogate and Ayrshire, the majority of its UK market share has been as a chassis producer in the coach and bus sectors.
