BASE, the UK importer of MOBIpeople products from Portugal, has unveiled what it describes as a ‘new and improved’ PSVAR-specification Midi Explorer.
The design, with the wheelchair lift between the axles, has allowed all of the luggage space in the rear boot to be retained. The vehicle has a maximum capacity of 35 seats plus driver and courier with a wheelchair lift fitted.
The first vehicle built to this new design, ordered by KB Coaches of Gloucestershire, can accommodate up to four wheelchairs.
BASE is also able to retro-fit earlier Midi Explorers to this revised specification.
Andy Francis of KB Coaches said: “The Midi Explorer is my 11th MOBIpeople since 2015; the quality of the product and the aftermarket support I receive from BASE is second to none. I just hope I have some work in the diary by the time it’s registered in September!”
Nick Dodgson, General Manager at BASE added: “We are always looking to improve the specifications that we are offering with MOBIpeople. With more customers looking to operate PSVAR-compliant vehicles in their fleets, we think this is a significant improvement in design that allows the vehicle to be operated to a PSVAR specification without any real compromise to the vehicle in its original use as a 35-seat midi coach.”
All MOBIpeople models are available to a PSVAR specification, with seating capacities ranging from 29 to 74. Further details are available from BASE on 01772 425355.
