It has been reported that Big Bus Tours it to be put up for sale, in a deal that could be valued at £600m. Sky News reports that the company could change hands within the next 12 months, citing sources which indicate that owning group Exponent Private Equity, which has owned the business since 2015, had hired Bank of America to advise on a sale.

The business, founded in 2011 by the merger of UK operator The Big Bus Company and Paris-based Les Cars Rouges, has rebounded well since the pandemic, and has operations in cities including London, Paris, Hong Kong, Dubai, Istanbul, New York and San Francisco. A minority stake in the company is owned by international theme park operator Merlin Entertainments, which also owns Chessington World of Adventures and Madame Tussauds.
