Last week’s Big Picture took us to Lichfield, where, through the lens of photographer Ray Ward, we saw one of the rare Diamond Bus (formerly Midland Classic) Irizar i3 buses. A quick trip back to 1987 in the time machine this week finds us at the same location, but with an altogether more familiar and British vehicle in shot. This time, it’s Midland Red Mk1 Leyland National TOF 696S, pictured en route to Cannock, seen in poor light and foggy weather not too dissimilar to that experienced in the days after Christmas in many parts of the country.
