Following a previous order for two vehicles earlier this year, Bournemouth Borough Council has specified a repeat of four Mellor Orion Plus buses.
The vehicles are low-floor, easy access and include removable seats which allow for a range of seating options.
David Harrop, Passenger Transport Manager for Bournemouth Borough Council, said: “Our new buses will be providing elderly and disabled people with access to their day centres. As a result, we are providing passengers with flexibility and freedom since many may not have been able to access public transport or make use of their own private vehicles so easily.
“The buses we have specified from Mellor are ideal for our requirements. They include a lowering suspension, fold-out ramps and double rear doors, meaning that all passengers can access the vehicles easily and safely.
“We have previously ordered from Mellor, so we trusted the quality of the vehicle, as well as the aftersales and customer service we receive from Stephen Haywood and the team at Mellor. I am a truly content customer.”
The Orion Plus low-floor buses ordered by the council have been fitted with sliding side windows, a long fold-out ramp and a front ramp with a centre handle.
Stephen Haywood, Area Sales Manager – South for Mellor, commented: “It is great to hear that Bournemouth Borough Council is happy with their latest purchase of Mellor vehicles. Particularly since they will be enabling people in their community to access their day centres more easily.”
