Brazilian minibus manufacturer has sales success in Middle East

Volare, a brand of Brazilian bus and coach manufacturer Marcopolo that specialises in the manufacture of five to 10-tonne passenger transport vehicles, has exported 19 Fly 9 Executive minibuses to Qatar where they will be used to transport oil company employees in the city of Doha.

Volare launched the 9,200kg 33-seat Fly 9 at the BrasilFret 2018 exhibition last September, when the company celebrated its 20th anniversary.

Mounted on an Agrale 10.160 chassis powered by a Cummins ISF 3.8-litre engine, the minibuses feature retractable three-point seatbelts, air-conditioning, wood-clad flooring and an audio/video system. They also comply with R66 rollover regulations.

The Allison fully automatic transmission specified has FuelSense 2.0, which uses the DynActive Shifting system to provide an infinitely variable combination of gearshift points to deliver fuel economy improvements of up to 6%.

FuelSense 2.0 uses a real-time learning algorithm to determine the optimal balance between economy and performance.

According to Rodrigo Bisi, Volare’s Export Manager: “Among the most important features to make the new Volare buses attractive to the Middle East market is the use of Allison automatic transmissions, which assure more comfort, safety and driving smoothness.”
