Brighton & Hove and Metrobus are offering an introductory special weekly capped rate of just £19 for the next few weeks when paying for journeys using tap-on, tap-off contactless payments. Passengers will receive a discount on fares depending how often they travel. There is no discount provided if a passenger just meets a single daily cap once in a week. If the passenger meets a second daily cap, the discount is 5% for that day. If a passenger meets a third daily cap, the discount is 10% for that day. If a passenger meets a fourth daily cap, then the discount is 15% for that day. Once a passenger reaches the price of a weekly ticket (£19) the rest of the week is free.

Brighton & Hove and Metrobus Commercial Director Nick Hill said he wanted to provide a more innovative way to support people returning to work and the new ways people are going about their daily lives: “The way people work and live their lives has changed so much since the start of the pandemic. We want to provide a quick and easy way to travel that reflects these changes yet still offers excellent value for money. With contactless tap-on tap-off, our customers don’t need to plan their journeys in advance and will pay a lower price each day. With high frequency services on many of our routes, and a no hassle way to pay, things couldn’t be easier. That’s why we have introduced a discounted daily cap with tap-on, tap-off contactless and a super launch price of just £19 per week.”

The new discounts apply to both Brighton & Hove and Metrobus. RICHARD SHARMAN
