A number of industry heritage events were cancelled as a result of the passing of the Queen, reports Nick Larkin
A number of recent events were cancelled and postponed as a mark of respect to Her Majesty the Queen.
The Showbus Flyby, due to have taken place last Sunday (18 September) was among them. Organiser Dr Martin Isles said: “With the Showbus Flyby on the A40 from Brunel to Wheatley now scheduled to fall on the eve of Her Majesty’s state funeral, in deference to the state of national mourning I have decided to postpone the event till the summer of 2023 at a date to be agreed with Brunel University and Buckinghamshire Council. With the period of national mourning concluding with the funeral, the Showbus 50 display at the Hertfordshire County Showground on 25 September will take place as planned. The emphasis on the special 1952-2022 Platinum Jubilee display will now be to celebrate Her Majesty’s reign.”
