Preparations for this year’s Catch the Bus Month, organised by Bus Users UK, have begun with the launch of the campaign’s partner pack. The charity is calling on transport operators, local authorities, passenger groups and communities across the UK to get behind the campaign, which runs throughout September. Its partner pack offers a range of suggestions for events, giveaways and promotions along with offers of support and supplies of the famous giant red hands. The pack also contains campaign materials including logos, graphics and posters in English and Welsh which celebrate the social, economic and environmental benefits of bus travel.

Victoria Walker, Programme Manager at Bus Users UK, is heading up the campaign: “This is a critical time for bus services with staff shortages and funding cuts, and passenger numbers that still haven’t returned to pre-Covid levels. Yet the need for affordable, sustainable transport has never been greater,” she said. “We want the industry to get behind Catch the Bus Month and remind people of the huge benefits of bus travel to themselves and to their communities.”

The free partner pack can be downloaded from the Bus Users website at bususers.org/catchthebusmonth.
