Bus worker dies after accident at Renfrewshire depot

A 43-year-old McGill’s employee has died after an incident at Renfrewshire depot. The incident occurred at the transport firm’s yard on Cochranemill Road, Johnstone, at around midnight on Friday 7 December 2018, where it is understood the man was hit by a bus.

The man, who has not been named, was sent to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in critical condition, and suffered serious injuries to the head and legs. He later died from his injuries in the early hours of the Saturday morning.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “The Health and Safety Executive have been informed and enquiries are ongoing.”
