Portuguese manufacturer Caetano has celebrated the thirty-fifth anniversary of its Caetano UK facilities, located in the Midlands, and inaugurated in 1989 by Grupo Salvador Caetano’s founder Salvador Fernandes Caetano. On 6 April that year, the doors of Caetano UK facilities were opened for the first time, laying the foundations for its UK journey. Since then, the company says, “Caetano UK has not only been a reference for the Salvador Caetano Group, but also a symbol of our unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and quality in everything we do.”

Nuno Lago de Carvalho, Board Director of Caetano UK, said: “Caetano UK is a strategic business partner of National Express, annually supplying hundreds of coaches. We have a local operation supporting a Caetano fleet, which currently comprises over 1,000 vehicles circulating throughout the United Kingdom. Additionally, we were pioneers in introducing battery-electric buses in London in 2021, with more than 40 zero-emission buses already in operation at Abellio London. The commitment to hydrogen mobility is an ecosystem and economy that Caetano UK is developing alongside other pioneering local partners, and it represents one of our most significant bets for the future.”
