Caledonian Leisure is celebrating after Caledonian Travel and sister brand UKBreakaways recorded their 500,000th holiday customer just two years after launching. To mark the achievement, the company surprised two lucky customers at its travel centres in Glasgow and Middlesbrough by awarding them with a £500 holiday voucher.

Managing Director Graham Rogers said: “Hitting the half-a-million-customer milestone just two years after our launch is an unbelievable achievement. I’d like to congratulate our lucky winners and thank every holidaymaker who has travelled with us over the past two years. Our growth and strong performance has been driven by our customer centric approach; understanding what our customers want, delivering exceptional breaks and offering first class customer service at all times.

“I believe this commitment to customer service is the reason why people choose to holiday with our brands time and time again, and why we’re continuing to enjoy record bookings.”

Since launching in April 2021, Caledonian Travel has quickly become one of the largest operators of breaks by coach, not only in Scotland where its roots were firmly established, but also in the North East and Yorkshire following a strategic expansion programme. Sister company UKBreakaways has also established itself in the entertainment and tribute breaks sector throughout the UK.

To help meet demand for its breaks and holidays, the company opened five travel centres in Glasgow, Gateshead, Middlesbrough, Hull and Wakefield, and has also continually expanding its fleet, which it affectionately calls its ‘Pride of Lions.’ It now operates over 75 coaches supported by a team of trusted drivers and representatives. The firm’s success was formally recognised in November last year when it was crowned the ‘Best Large Travel Company for Coach Holidays’ at the British Travel Awards.

Commercial Director Martin Lock added: “We are constantly recognised on Feefo and Trustpilot for the efficient and friendly service delivered by our sales team and drivers, who we believe are the best in the industry and have played an invaluable role in delivering our award-winning experience to our customers.”
