Jonathan Welch catches up with some of the operators he has visited over the last year to see how the unusual events of 2020 have affected them

Here at CBW, there’s only so much we can fit into the magazine every week. But besides what you see on the pages, we’re always working in the background, keeping eyes out for stories and ears open for news and happenings so we can bring you the latest stories and events. We often find ourselves chatting with operators, either in preparation for a feature, or ones we’ve visited in the past, and we are fortunate to be able to count many of them as friends.

It hardly needs saying that 2020 has been a difficult year. For buses, even more so for coaches, as well as for us here at CBW. Speaking to some of the operators who have featured over the last year or so, it is pleasing to hear that while they are all feeling the pinch, there is also much positivity in their attitudes and in their businesses. I spoke to MP Travel, Hannon Coach, LL Travel and South Pennine Community Transport to find out how things have changed for them since we last spoke.
