Children from 14 schools in Kent will have been transported by Sittingbourne-based Chalkwell to Young Voices – the largest school choir concerts in the world – by the time they finish next month. The concerts take place at The 02 Arena in London.

Utilising coaches of various sizes, Chalkwell expects to have achieved a total of 14 bookings from schools between January 16 and February 7.

Jenny Barham of Chalkwell Coach Hire and Tours said: “Once again Chalkwell has been privileged to be the chosen operator to carry so many ‘Young Voices’ from the local area.

“We are happy to play our part in inspiring children to discover their love for music.”

School Business Manager Tracey Snellings from Holywell Primary, Upchurch, who booked a 53-seater Chalkwell coach for Young Voices, said it was the fifth year that the Sittingbourne-based operator had taken them to The 02.

She explained: “This January a coach took us up, retained some of our belongings on board, and a second driver brought it back, very courteously phoning me to say where he was in the car park.

“The coach had to fill a different parking spot on its return and the driver was very helpful and polite.”
