A charity which owns and restores classic buses has launched an urgent appeal to secure its future. Nottingham Heritage Vehicles Charity was founded in 1999 and awarded charitable status in 2014. The group has more than 20 vehicles in its collection based at the art deco former Trent depot, still owned by parent group Wellglade, at Hucknall, Nottingham.

Trustee Simon Lowings said: “Our building does not lend itself to social distancing and we have had to cancel all our events for the foreseeable future. Apart from a small council grant and photo sales we are reliant on our trustees and members for helping keep us in existence as we have no other ways of generating income from our usual fundraising channels. Therefore we are asking people for their help.
