I remained silent for much of the latter part of 2019 in anticipation that we might eventually get some clarity in respect of the country’s future direction as well as that of the bus industry.

It is a relief to know that the views of the ‘unreconstructed Stalinists’ (as a well-known bus industry figure used to like to call them!) which would have renationalised our industry and done it even more damage than congestion is already doing did not find favour with the electorate. It would also be nice to think that the job of dealing with important domestic issues like public transport can now come back to the fore whilst the details of Brexit are fought over at the side. I intend to offer some radical thoughts in this article. […]
