A classic bus running day based at Chesham in Buckinghamshire attracted the best attendance of 34 events held locally over the years. Seventeen preserved coaches and buses, some privately-owned and some from operators, took part in the event, running on a network of original routes operating from Chesham Broadway.

Vehicles included AEC RTs, RFs and Routemasters, types which ran locally when new, originally operated by the London Transport Country Area. This was taken over by new National Bus Company subsidiary London Country Bus Services (LCBS) from 1 January 1970. Leyland Nationals were part of the local transport scene from the 1970s and again were represented at the running day.
