Recently, Bonnie celebrated her 93rd birthday. When the children and their bus driver found out the special day was coming up earlier this month – thanks to Bonnie’s daughter – they decided to do something special for her, CBS News reported.

On the Friday of her birthday, Bonnie waved to the children from her front porch as usual, and was delighted when the bus stopped and all onboard shouted ‘happy birthday!’

In a video shot by her daughter Judy Zimmerman, Bonnie is seen laughing and smiling, clearly thrilled by the surprise gesture.

Judy told the news outlet: “Mom had no idea; the morning sun could not have been more perfect for the video either! Although you cannot see her face, she was so happy. The kids all were in on it with the bus driver and were excited to be able to stop!”

Bonnie started waving to the school bus at the beginning of this school year. “She sits in her rocking chair at her picture window and looks down the gravel road to watch for it,” said Judy. “On a good weather day, she will step out on her porch and the bus driver will honk as they drive by.”

It’s not only the school bus that Bonnie waves to on a daily basis, however; Judy revealed that she also gives a morning greeting to three other people. She waves to one of her daughters as she goes to work, the mail delivery woman and a man hauling a cattle feed wagon.
