Oxford Bus Company’s ‘Christmas Light Bus’ is returning to help spread some festive cheer again this year. The decorated City Sightseeing Oxford open-top bus toured several communities last Saturday as part of the Christmas Light Festival. Following the popularity of the Christmas Light Bus last year Oxford Bus Company has teamed up with Oxford City Council, JACKfm, Oxford Business Park and City of Oxford College to bring it back again for 2021.

The bus drove through the streets of Oxford between 1600 and 2000hrs, stopping at the Oxford Christmas Light Festival’s main hubs. Destinations will include Oxford, Blackbird Leys and Cutteslowe. Christmas songs were played on board by partner JACKfm, and the Oxford Bus Company team handed out sweets to everyone who went to see the bus at the stopping points. Specially designed artwork created by local artists Mani and City of Oxford College students was displayed in the bus windows.

Phil Southall, Oxford Bus Company Managing Director said: “The Christmas Light Bus delivered so much joy during a challenging time last year that we felt it was important to bring it back again. It wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our partners and we’re pleased to be giving something back at Christmas.”

For those not able to go out to see the festive vehicle, Oxford Bus Company broadcasted the tour live on Facebook so people could watch from home. OBC
