This year’s Showbus event provided a fascinating showcase for operators of heritage vehicles and much more. Nick Larkin reports

Last week’s issue featured the modern vehicles in attendance at this year’s Showbus. Heritage operators and preservationists also played a major part in making it a successful event. Held for the first time at the Hertfordshire Showground, the 47th Showbus also included a special display of vehicles marking 50 years since the National Bus Company was formed. Bob Pain’s 1977 Bristol VR/ECW XNV882S was voted best former NBC bus.
