The Torbay Hospitality Association and the Coach Drivers Information Pack (CDIP) have launched a free service for coach operators.

Entitled ‘Sample Itineraries’, the online document is designed to offer local knowledge about the businesses, communities and services which cater for coach parties.

A special version of the Coach Drivers Information Pack is available in German for the increasing number of coaches visiting from Germany.

Alan Payling, of the Coach Drivers Information Pack said: “Given the increasing number of coaches visiting Torquay & Paignton the German pack is designed to say ‘Wilkomenn’ and provide information about places seeking to attract the German market.

“Given the considerable interest from the German market in novelist Rosamunde Pilcher, we will be working on getting out the message German coaches are very welcome here in Pilcher Country.”

“Torquay & Paignton are the leading resorts for the coach trade in the UK. I estimate the business they bring into Devon is worth upwards of £40m per annum.”

Bill Vincent, chairman of the Torbay Hospitality Association said: “Many of our members who run coaching hotels want to attract coach operators. Coach business is absolutely vital to our members. As coach parties visit Torquay & Paignton throughout the year, it’s very valuable business indeed.”
