Transdev’s Coastliner subsidiary in Yorkshire has named one of its fleet after popular commentator and bus fan Barry Parker, who retired recently after over 40 years behind the mic.

Barry was for many the instantly recognisable voice of football in York and North Yorkshire, and for two decades was famous as the ‘voice of York City.’ Even though he’s now retired, the name of the BBC Radio York presenter will still be seen across the city thanks to Transdev’s gesture. Barry’s friends at BBC Radio York teamed up with Coastliner to organise a surprise reveal of the newly-named bus in front of the new home of his beloved York City, the LNER Community Stadium.
