The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority is reviewing the response to its consultation on whether to adopt a franchising or Enhanced Partnership approach
The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority’s statutory bus franchising consultation saw more than 1,600 responses, the Authority reports. The consultation ran between 14 August and 25 November, and the Authority says it will move forward with compiling and publishing a report setting out its response to the feedback, which will inform a decision by Mayor Nik Johnson on how to reform buses across the area. The Mayor’s decision is currently expected by early February.
More than 30 face-to-face events were held, including a series of events specifically for statutory consultees. Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority Rob Bridge said: “We would like to thank everyone who got involved in the consultation over the past few months to help improve bus services for all. We’re delighted that so many of you across the region took the opportunity to share your views as part of this important milestone on our Road to Better Buses.”
The consultation compared two ways to reform buses, either via a franchising solution or under an Enhanced Partnership approach.
