CPT Chief Executive Graham Vidler issued the following response to the Government’s announcements of details of its post-Brexit immigration system.
“Buses play a vital role in getting people to work, school and to meet family and friends and people from around the world are involved in ensuring buses are on the road.
“Bus and coach operators across the UK are committed to investing and developing their staff throughout their careers but losing workers from around the world who keep our buses moving would mean a poorer service for passengers.
“With experience showing that an adequate supply of drivers cannot be wholly met from within the UK, including bus and coach drivers on a shortage occupation list would be a practical step to help operators keep vehicles on the road.”
