After an enforced break as the result of the pandemic, the 54th UK Bus Driver of the Year National Final takes place on Sunday the 2nd of October

Welcome

Once again, we are ready for the National Final of the UK Bus Driver of the Year competition in Blackpool.

Who would have thought when we left Blackpool after the competition in September 2019 that it would be 2022 before we returned? A lot has happened in those three years and most of what happened we would not have dreamed of, all as a result of Covid-19.

I am delighted to report that despite the challenges still facing bus companies the support for our UK BDoY competition has held up, with the final number of entrants being four up on the 2019 figure. A huge thank you to bus companies, staff and sponsors for sticking with us. All 89 entrants are competing for the coveted title, UK Bus Driver of the Year. Many are finalists for the first time, some are hoping to regain the top spot, others are coming with the objective of doing better than previously and one is planning to hold the title for a second year. This level of healthy competition will ensure an interesting and professional event.
