D&G Bus has purchased the business and assets of Wardle Transport at Mossfield Road, Stoke-on-Trent.

The sale will complete in May 2015, with the operational date for D&G Bus to start operating the Wardles routes set to be Saturday, May 9, 2015.

The deal includes the transfer of all existing Wardles bus contracts, 19 buses and around 90 staff at the depot.

D&G Bus’ directors said they believe that the acquisition will complement its existing portfolio of work which is currently based at Cinderhill Industrial Estate, Longton.

The process of returning to the Potteries began for D&G Bus in April 2014 when the 841 service started operating from Uttoxeter to Stafford. Then in November the company started the operation of the Orange One between Meir and Newcastle.  The next opportunity arose with the purchase of the BakerBus operation.

“Its good to be home,” said Director Dave Reeves.
