Transport managers can now use GOV.UK Verify to sign applications digitally through the Vehicle Operator Licensing (VOL) service.
As a result, nominating or changing a transport manager can now be done online from start to finish.
The new feature has been added to the site following feedback from operators, most of which said they would use the service if it was available for transport manager applications.
It normally takes around 10 minutes to verify an identity the first time someone uses GOV.UK Verify.
After the initial verification process, it should only take two minutes to sign into the service.
