John Breakell’s daughter won the bus driving experience at a special event in Sheffield, but at 10 years old was too young to take part. John’s dad was a bus driver for First for 20 years. JOHN BREAKELL

First South Yorkshire recently welcomed competition winner John Breakell for a driving experience at its Olive Grove depot in Sheffield. John won the driving experience at the launch of the operator’s specially-liveried bus celebrating its long-term support of Sheffield’s St Luke’s Hospice. John’s dad Bill was a driver with First, and the company said he would have been proud of John’s skill driving the bus as well as thanking staff member Andy Askham for taking the time out to show John the ropes behind the wheel of one of its training buses.
