The East Riding of Yorkshire Council has taken delivery of two new Treka Mobility minibuses, further strengthening its long-standing partnership with the manufacturer. Designed to meet the council’s specific needs, the accessible minibuses offer seating for up to 14 passengers or space for five wheelchairs. Featuring a side entry with an electrically operated sliding door, an electric step, latch-and-lift candy cane handrails, an internal tail lift, and advanced climate control, the vehicles ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all users. The latest acquisition is part of East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s ongoing fleet replacement programme, which has seen multiple Treka vehicles integrated into its operations over the years. The manufacturer says the Council’s continued trust in its products highlights its reputation for delivering high-quality, reliable, and durable transport solutions.
The Council’s Transport Operations Manager Mandy Rydel said of the new additions: “The Mobility buses are nimble and incredibly flexible. The seamless interior allows us to remove all the seats for deep cleaning when needed, and we can easily configure the space to accommodate both wheelchairs and standard seating. The narrow width of the buses gives us the versatility to deploy them for a range of transport needs.”
Treka, part of the Woodall Nicholson Group, says it is proud to support the council in delivering top-quality, reliable and accessible transport solutions, so that communities across the region can continue to benefit from safe and adaptable mobility options.
