Passengers can look out for the new Enviro200s on routes 18 and 136

East Yorkshire a Hull-based bus company has introduced two new ADL single-decker buses to support rural areas, which will come into service from mid-April.

The two buses include free WiFi, USB charging points, wireless charging points for mobile phones and smartphone holders on the back of seats, and adhere to the highest emissions standards.

The company’s Area Director, Ben Gilligan, said that the new buses showed the company’s commitment to running buses outside of the big cities. “Buying brand new modern buses for rural services is something many bus companies would never do.

“However, our buses to small towns and villages are very important to us, and putting these modern buses on rural routes shows our commitment to grow and develop them in future. People can help us do this by regularly using the bus, and encouraging their friends and family to do the same.”

Richard Matthews, Retail Sales Director at Alexander Dennis, said: “We are delighted that East Yorkshire continues to support the local economy in the North East with the purchase of these Enviro200 buses. They are stunning buses which will no doubt prove popular with passengers thanks to their comfortable interiors, and we will be proud to see them on the road.”

The buses will go out onto two of the company’s rural routes: Service 18 from Holme-on-Spalding-Moor to York and Service 136 between Driffield and Bridlington.
