As the Easter weekend is normally a busy period for engineering works on the rail network, there is often a high demand for rail replacement buses, which can result in operators coming in from further afield. Reading Buses was called up into London to help out on the Metropolitan Line between Wembley Park and Northwood, in what photographer Kris Lake dubbed ‘premium rail replacement’ – a reference to the high quality interior and exterior features of this Wrightbus Streetdeck. The bus is seen loading up passengers at Northwood Station while it prepares to depart for Wembley Park. Other operators covering the job included Arriva The Shires, Arriva London, Uno Buses, Metroline, London Sovereign and Sullivan Buses on the Metropolitan line rail replacements. KRIS LAKE
