Ebusco has been announced as the winner of the Commercial Vehicles category of the Automotive Brand Contest, alongside winners in other categories which include Porsche, Bentley and Volkswagen. Ebusco said the German Design Council jury was impressed by the overwhelmingly successful launch of its Ebusco 3.0 model at the end of 2019, together with the outstanding design of this composite bus.
The manufacturer claims the Ebusco 3.0 composite bus has a weight reduction of 33% compared to a comventional bus and a range of up to 500 km on one charge.
The first 2 Ebusco 3.0 buses are expected to be on the road in Munich, Germany at the end of 2020, and approximately 50 more are scheduled to follow in Europe from 2021 onwards.
The Automotive Brand Contest is an international design competition for vehicle marques. Through the competition, organiser the German Design Council honours outstanding product and communication design and draws attention to the fundamental importance of brand and brand design in the automotive industry. Awards are given in 13 contest categories and four special categories, covering the entire design spectrum and range from vehicle design and concepts via brand design and multimedia networking through to campaigns and events.
The jury is made up of representatives from the media, the design and brand communication sectors and universities. Submissions are evaluated according to the criteria of overall concept/brand fit, product aesthetics and functionality.
