The Mercedes-Benz eCitaro demonstrator joined the National Express Coventry fleet during December as part of the operator’s ongoing trial of electric buses from multiple manufacturers as part of its fleet decarbonisation programme.
Putting the capabilities of the all-electric bus to the test, the eCitaro was used on one of the operator’s busiest corridors on its Coventry network, serving over 40 stops and connecting the city centre with neighbouring Longford, Bedworth and Nuneaton. Additional trials saw the eCitaro used on routes between the city’s University Hospital and the city centre.
